Signal Average ECG

The signal average ECG is a specialised, non-invasive test that uses advanced computer technology to detect very subtle, low-level electrical signals in the heart that a standard ECG may miss. By averaging multiple heartbeats, the test filters out background noise and reveals late potentials — tiny electrical abnormalities that can indicate an increased risk of dangerous heart rhythm disturbances. This test is often used in the assessment of patients with certain heart conditions or a family history of arrhythmias. It is completely painless and takes approximately 20 to 30 minutes.
