EP Study

An electrophysiology (EP) study is a detailed investigation of the heart’s electrical system, used to pinpoint the cause of abnormal heart rhythms. Thin electrode catheters are carefully guided into the heart, where they record and stimulate electrical signals to map precisely where arrhythmias originate. This allows your cardiologist to make an accurate diagnosis and determine the most effective treatment — whether that be medication, ablation, or a device. The study is performed in a specialised laboratory with expert monitoring, and our team will explain every step and answer any questions you have beforehand.
