A coronary angiogram is a diagnostic procedure that allows us to look directly at the blood vessels supplying your heart. A thin, flexible tube (catheter) is gently guided into the heart’s arteries, usually through the wrist or groin, and a contrast dye is injected so the arteries can be seen clearly on X-ray imaging. This test identifies the exact location and severity of any narrowing or blockages, providing the essential information needed to plan your treatment. The procedure is performed in our modern catheterisation laboratory, and most patients go home the same day.
